1.   What are some of the struggles we face when trying to understand the Muslim religion and why?

2.   Misunderstandings and mistrust often come from ignorance on a subject. How does that apply here?  How does that apply in life in general?

3.   While Muslims are not Christian in their beliefs, what makes them our ‘brothers and sisters?’

4.   What happens when we paint any group with a broad brush? Give some examples and discuss.

5.   Do you know someone of a different faith? How are you alike? Where do you differ?

6.   Why is it so important to world peace that we get along with all peoples and come to have a respect for different beliefs?

1.   According to what you read in this article, what is a mission diocese?

2.   Talk about how difficult it must be for one to flee their country, home, school, church, etc. to seek safety?

3.   Now discuss how these people, who have basically left everything behind to find a safe haven in a new country, feel when they find a warm welcome, as they do in the mission dioceses.

4.   Even if someone is from a different country, how does a faith become a tie that connects them to others?

5.   Talk about how the Holy Family can relate to being refugees. (Read Matthew 2:13-15 first.)

4.   Are you able to talk to God in a personal way, as Father McClellan suggests? Why/why not?

5.   He states: ‘We receive God’s mercy and we need to extend it to others.’ Discuss what this means.
